SF Saiyuki Starzinger (1978) - Episode 05

Here's the next episode of my HQ remastered version (originally subtitled by ILA Fansubs from a VHS source).

This episode features Crystal, a very Matsumoto-ish villainess. Like most of the other space monsters she is determined not to let Princess Aurora complete her voyage to "The Great King", and plans to imprison her in a crystal castle.

The torrent is here. Direct download link is here.

The direct download links of the previous episodes are down, so here are some new links:

Thanks to Gxseries, FreekieDee and all the other former members of ILA. And as always, a big shout-out to Gou no Ken...without his help in getting this project off the ground, it would just be another of the many subtitling plans in my brain that I hope to achieve some day.

  1. Reupload caps 1 and 2 pls!, great and amazing job with this lost serie! ;D congrats! keep rockin!

  2. Thanks for the ep, Nanto.

The worst part about all these file locker shutdowns is that Hollywood refuses to adapt to what their consumers want, which is digital distribution.

The same thing happened when I-tunes first came out and the recording industry tried to strangle it in its crib.

Both Hollywood and the recording industry could've found some way to monetize file-lockers and torrents, but they chose not to. *shrugs*

  3. Hi, I'm not sure if this is the right place to be asking you this (I couldn't find any other contact information for you), but I've been made aware that you're a translator looking for assistance for a variety of projects.

I'm a member of Alpha-Numbers, a fansub group hailing from a community of diehard mecha fans, and we've been on a (so far unsuccessful) search for more people to help us translate classic mecha anime.

I'd like to talk with you about the possibility of a joint project between our two groups. In addition to here, you can get ahold of us at our own blog at (we also have a list of our most desired series there, but we're open to pretty much anything mecha that isn't properly subbed yet), and we also hang out on IRC at #alphanumbers.

    1. Nanto is also on the /m/ subs forums as Nanto:

    2. Hi Tilus, thanks for contacting me. Unfortunately I'm not a translator...most of my shows are done by freelance translators for hire. This is funded partially by donations, but mostly out of my own pocket. So while I sometimes do joint projects with other groups, right now I'm only looking for other groups that would be able to provide me with translations, and I would do all of the editing, timing and encoding.

I see from your list of possible shows you would like to subtitle GoShogun...that's one show I would love to work on, but I'd really only be able to do it if you could provide the translations and I did the other tasks.

Anyway, thanks again for contacting me, and keep up the good work with Whirlwind! Iron Leaguer. I've added the Alpha Numbers page to my blog list, so that people who follow Skaro but haven't heard of your group yet will find out about it.

    3. Alas, it sounds like it's back to the drawing board yet again...

Thanks for the addition to your blogroll, though, and likewise keep up the good work on your end as well.

    4. Tilus and Nanto, GoShogun's a great series, so hopefully, you'll do a joint project for it.

  4. I'm sure lots of people would like to see GoShogun subbed. It's a great series.
